Well! The end of term signified exactly why DRAKE HOUSE is so awesome! (Joint) Winners of the House Shield....again!!!!! Congratulations to all 44 members of the House: you are all am.. az... ing!
But the winning didn't just stop with the House Shield...oh no, it didn't! The list of Drake successes went on and on......!
Star prizes were awarded to Bea and Issy Whizz.
Other runners up were Oliver and Tess: senior winners were Efosa, Joe and Pauline. Congratulations to all of them!
Star prizes to Yr 8 went to Charles and Finn, with Millie running up for 8S! Obtaining stars in Year 8 is no mean feat, so to have 2 winners with a runner up....great achievements, well done!
Winners and runners of the pinks:
Johan (runner up)
Anna (runner up)
Efosa (runner up) and Jamie winning!
Tess (joint winner)
Pauline (winner) and Millie (runner up!)
Fabulous achievement...and my favourite colour too!
Children achieving over 150 stars: Johan and Millie! Well done!

Year 8 Finn, who is also the winner of the Slayden Cup. Fabulous!

Yrs 5/6: runner up was Daisy with Kit winning it.
Yrs 7/8: won by Fynn.
Well done to all of our budding photographers.
Doubleday Senior Choir Prize: Millie was a joint winner. Well done. Also, well done to Millie for opening the Carol Service so brilliantly with the first verse of 'Once in Royal'.
Finn was also the joint winner of the senior progress in music prize. Well done to both of them.
Drake won the senior House football this term: congrats to all of hte boys. In addition Cosmo won the individual 1st XI football player this term.
Drake also won the inter house 'pinks' competition with an admirable 15.2 pinks won per pupil.
The House shield is won by combining all of the stars and minuses, the duty cup, the stars and minuses, the sport and music and the pinks. Drake tied in first place with another house...amazing achievement. Well done to everyone!
Other house appointments this term:
Charles - Captain of Cross Country
Finn - Captain of Swimming
House Office - Charles.
At our last House meeting of term, all of their children were presented with a little gift from me to say thank you for all of their hard work this term. Not sure that much of their selection packs were left at the end of the meeting...or that they ate much lunch!
Miss Wybar presented her own prize to the House: each week the winners of the 'stars' had their names put into a drum. At our last house meeting we invited Oscar to pull a name out of the drum and the winner was Issy, who received yet more chocolate. Well done.
Once again, my huge thanks to all of the House for an extraordinarily successful term! Have a good rest over Christmas and look forward to another great term from January.
PA, NLM and FMW.

Final few days of term
At the outset please could I congratulate your children on all of their hard work this term for our wonderful House - and clearly this is BEFORE the final results are in! They have been a superb bunch with whom to work and they have made my first term as Housemistress extremely rewarding! The odd gripe of course..but given that we have 44 children in our house, the occasional squabble is to be expected I think! On the whole we have a good mix of sporty, arty, academic and musical children and I hope that they will continue to go on to do great things. They are a hugely entertaining bunch and provide me with much amusement!
PLEASE don't forget our fun duck competition, which we are running throughout the spring term 2015. Send in pictures of plastic ducks in the most interesting or exotic places....I already have about 15 pictures! Thank you. Please do keep them coming. A specially trained set of judges will be looking at them towards the end of the spring term, when a prize will be awarded to the duck judged to be in the most entertaining or interesting place! (NB: this is a family blogspot..!)
Wishing you and your families a healthy and happy Christmas and best wishes for 2015.
From all of us in Drake: Pete, Nik and Fi.
